How to use Instant-Fax from your email
Below is a sample screenshot of all you need to send an E-mail to Fax. Open your E-mail client, compose a new message, and in the "To" field, type destinationnumber@instant-fax.com. You will simply replace <destinationnumber> with the 10-digit destination that you wish to fax. Then, attach any supported document types to the e-mail and send the message. It is not necessary to include a subject or body, as these fields are ignored.
Sending an Outbound Fax by Email
Using an email client like MS Outlook, you can send your fax to any 11-digit US number using the format DID@instant-fax.com (eg. 12033045246@instant-fax.com).
Fax Caller ID when Sending an Outbound Fax by Email
You can now have a Fax Caller ID configured to your email address when sending an outbound fax. Please submit a ticket for this request.
When Faxing from an email, a Generic Compudile DID (13214246840) will be displayed to the recipient(s), and not the actual Fax number. At this time, we do not have a reverse-lookup method or table to associate user emails with a fax number in the PBX profile.
Multiple Attachments
It is possible to attach multiple files in your email to fax. The files will all be combined into a single PDF document, based on an alphabetical file name sorting. With this in mind, if you want your cover sheet to be first, name your document file something like 1CoverSheet.doc to ensure it is sorted first, followed by other documents you may also have attached.
The system accepts the following files formats: html; pdf; doc; docx; odt
