How to Find Your Computer's Name

1. Check for Labels:

  • PC or Tower: If your computer has a white label, the computer's name is likely printed on it. Look on the top of the PC or tower.

  • Laptop: For laptops, look for a white label in the area below the screen, just above the keyboard. The computer's name may be printed on this label.

2. Verify System Settings:

  • Windows 10/8/7:

  • Press the "Windows" + "R" keys simultaneously to open the Run dialog box.

  • Type "cmd" and press Enter to open the Command Prompt window.

  • In the Command Prompt window, type "hostname" and press Enter.

  • The computer's name will be displayed on the command line as the host name.

3. Check System Settings:

  • Windows 10:

  • Click on the Start button and select "Settings" (gear icon).

  • In Settings, select "System" and then "About".

  • In the "Device specifications" section, look for "Device name". The computer's name will be listed here.

4. Consult with the Network Administrator:

  • If you're unable to find your computer's name using the above methods, reach out to your company's network administrator. They can provide you with the computer's name or assist you in finding it.
